- Five-Step Entrapment Method
Under conducive environmental factors, the five-step entrapment method emerges as the favored tactic among malicious PUAs. The steps are as follows:
- Character Impression: PUAs typically scout their “prey” online or in entertainment and artistic venues. After initial contact, they use conversation or social media to showcase their virtual persona, create narratives, and arouse your curiosity.
- Typical patterns include the successful yet troubled emperor, the rebellious yet wounded prodigal son, and the talented yet carefree poet.
- Character Subversion: Using the example of the “prodigal son,” his surface image may be carefree and unattached (Side A), but later, they’ll tell you that he wasn’t always like this, attributing his behavior to past emotional trauma (Side B). In addition to enriching his experiences, they aim to evoke understanding and pity from you.
- Ambiguous Inducement: Building upon the first two steps, PUAs further showcase their tenderness and consideration, yet they never appear overly proactive, creating an illusion of respecting women. However, their intention is to induce women to explore and confirm their feelings. Throughout this process, PUAs subtly imply women’s feelings towards them, using questions like “Why are you so good to me?” to hint at women’s affection and prompt them to confess, thereby formalizing the relationship.
- Disparagement and Suppression: When women are immersed in a beautiful romance, PUAs undergo a significant attitude change. Whereas previously they may have praised various aspects of your life, now they’ll magnify every mistake, telling you that you’re not as perfect or suitable as they imagined. Simultaneously, they provoke women verbally, making them believe that it’s their fault for wearing down the relationship. Women often fall into self-blame and regret, resorting to various actions to salvage the situation.
- Emotional Abuse: This is the most heinous step, bordering on legal boundaries. As described in the fourth step, women lose their rationality and attempt to win back the relationship through various means. PUAs coldly observe, casually remarking, “Can’t you live without me? Show me then,” encouraging women to make suicidal declarations of love.
Additionally, PUAs exploit women financially in various ways, secretly taking bedroom photos or videos, using them as leverage to manipulate women and as a boastful capital for themselves.”
